Despre acest obiectiv
## A Water Necklace in the Heart of the Aninei Mountains The Beușnița Waterfalls lie hidden within the natural reserve of Cheile Nerei – Beușnița National Park, a protected area preserving one of the most spectacular creations of nature in the Western Carpathians. Sculpted over millennia by the swift waters of the Bei River in the limestone rock, these waterfalls form a chain of cascades that impress with their diversity and wild beauty. The phenomenon is unique in the region, transforming the valley into a true open-air natural museum. ## A Symphony of Water and Stone The waterfall ensemble is structured into two distinct sectors. Downstream, between the confluence of Beușnița with the Bei River and Poiana Beușniței, the water flows in an uninterrupted series of prolonged cascades with gentle slopes, appearing to dance among the rocks. Upstream, nature becomes more dramatic: vertical, noisy waterfalls plunge into deep basins, bordered by natural travertine dams. The first and most imposing of these, the Beușnița Waterfall, stands at the edge of the eponymous glade, reaching between 12 and 15 meters in height. It is followed by a second, more modest but equally picturesque fall, split into two distinct streams. After a path through the dense forest, the third waterfall is revealed, the wildest of all, where water flows in thin veils among moss and vegetation-covered rocks. ## Guide for Explorers Access to the waterfalls is via marked trails within Cheile Nerei – Beușnița National Park, starting from nearby localities such as Sasca Montană or Șopotu Nou. The route to Poiana Beușniței, the starting point for exploring the upper waterfalls, is accessible both on foot and by car via a forest road. To admire the entire ensemble, it is recommended to follow the trail upstream, where nature reveals itself in all its splendor. Visitors are advised to wear appropriate footwear and respect the reserve’s rules to preserve the beauty of this corner of paradise.
