Despre acest obiectiv
## A Subterranean Jewel of Banat Comarnic Cave lies hidden in the heart of the Aninei Mountains, approximately seven kilometers from the village of Iabalcea in Caraș-Severin County. With an impressive length of 5,229 meters, it is one of the largest and most spectacular caves in the Banat region. Successive explorations by the "Exploratorii" Speleological Association have contributed to the discovery of the last 2,000 meters, transforming it into a natural laboratory for researchers and a magnet for spelunking enthusiasts. ## A Natural Museum in the Depths of the Earth The tourist route of Comarnic Cave traverses the fossil level, a succession of spacious galleries and chambers richly decorated with unique karst formations. Among these, the Zebra Hall stands out with its striped walls and ceiling, where layers of limestone alternate with blackened flint, creating a striking visual effect. The concretions found here are remarkably diverse: stalactites shaped like macaroni, udders, or elbows; columnar stalagmites and domes; gours; cave pearls; travertine dams; and calcite bas-reliefs. Every corner of the cave reveals new details, turning a visit into an immersive journey through a living natural museum. ## Access and Visitor Recommendations To reach Comarnic Cave, visitors can follow the trails marked with a blue stripe, blue triangle, or red cross, starting from the Iabalcea village area. Although the tourist route covers only a portion of the cave, the experience is a memorable one, offering a glimpse into the subterranean beauty of Banat. Adequate equipment is recommended, including non-slip footwear and light sources, to safely explore the damp and slippery galleries. Visitors are encouraged to respect the natural environment by avoiding touching or damaging the karst formations, ensuring this natural treasure remains intact.
