Despre acest obiectiv
## A Symbol of Eminescu's Inspiration in Copou Park In the heart of Copou Park in Iași, the silver linden tree known as the "Lovers' Tree" or "Eminescu's Linden Tree" stands as a testament to over two and a half centuries of history. Estimated to be over 250 years old, it is the oldest tree in the park and a place steeped in literary and romantic significance. Here, in the shade of its generous branches, the poet Mihai Eminescu found the tranquility and inspiration necessary for his creative work, transforming this corner of nature into a symbol of Romanian lyrical genius. The massive trunk of the linden, affected by the passage of time, has been reinforced with mortar and metal rings to prolong its existence, while its branches are carefully supported by brackets. Although the interior of the trunk has been compromised by decay, the tree remains a living monument, preserving in its bark the memory of Eminescu's frequent visits. In front of it, a bronze bust of the poet watches over the site, inviting visitors to discover the profound connection between nature and creativity. ## An Annual Tradition and a Cultural Pilgrimage Site Every year on June 15, the Mihai Eminescu Museum in Copou Park organizes the "Linden Festival," an event that brings together poetry lovers, tourists, and locals around this historic tree. The celebration includes verse recitals, public readings, and musical performances, transforming the site into a vibrant space for honoring Eminescu's legacy. Accessible in any season, the linden tree is located in a central area of the park, easily identifiable by the bust and an informational plaque. Visitors can explore the surroundings, strolling along the shady paths of Copou Park or stopping by the nearby Mihai Eminescu Museum. Simple yet profound, the linden tree remains a living testament to the bond between humanity, nature, and art.
