Despre acest obiectiv
## A Baroque Jewel in the Heart of Cisnădioara The Evangelical Church of Cisnădioara stands proudly in the center of the village, a living testament to the Transylvanian Saxon community that shaped the history of this region. Built on the site of an older medieval church—of which only the tower remains—the current edifice dates back to 1764, completed in the Baroque style characteristic of the era. The church courtyard also houses a commemorative monument dedicated to soldiers who fell in World War I, alongside a traditional well, elements that complete the serene atmosphere of the place. ## Architecture and Interior Treasures Constructed in the spirit of Transylvanian Baroque, the church impresses with its balanced proportions and discreet decorative details. Its simple yet elegant façade is complemented by a robust tower, the sole remnant of the previous structure. However, the interior conceals one of Transylvania’s most valuable treasures: the oldest functional pipe organ in the region. The instrument, carefully restored, preserves the authentic sounds of the 18th century and is frequently used during sacred music concerts. ## Visitor’s Guide The church is open to visitors year-round, with opening hours adapted to religious services. Access is easy from the village center, and the courtyard offers a peaceful space for contemplation. Visitors are invited to admire both the exterior architecture and the interior details, including the historic organ, which can be heard during periodic cultural events. An ideal destination for those passionate about history, architecture, or sacred music.
