Despre acest obiectiv
## A Wild Corner of the Apuseni Mountains: Floroiu Lake Floroiu Lake, also known as Drăgan Lake, lies hidden in the heart of the Apuseni Mountains, at the intersection of forest roads connecting Poieni, Huedin, Ciucea, and Stâna de Vale. Created by human hands, this artificial lake is one of the last truly wild areas in Romania’s biosphere, still untouched by mass tourism. Its tranquil waters mirror a landscape of almost virgin beauty, where nature retains its unspoiled essence. ## A Biodiversity Oasis The vegetation around the lake marks a subtle transition between deciduous and coniferous forests, creating a natural mosaic of rare complexity. Here, beech and hornbeam trees intertwine with fir and spruce, providing shelter for diverse wildlife. Deer and Carpathian bears roam the forests in peace, while wolves make their presence known on quiet nights. On the rocky shores, vipers and lynxes find refuge, completing the wild tableau of this ecosystem. ## Short Visitor’s Guide Access to Floroiu Lake is via forest roads, recommended exclusively for off-road vehicles or experienced hikers. Those who choose to explore the area on foot can start from Apahida or neighboring villages, following marked trails that traverse dense forests and sunlit meadows. Though lacking tourist facilities, the lake offers unique opportunities for nature observation, photography, or simply relaxing in absolute tranquility. Visitors must respect the environment by avoiding noise and littering to preserve the untouched beauty of the place.
