Despre acest obiectiv
## Foisor Castle – The Royal Hunting Lodge of Sinaia Hidden among the ancient fir trees of the Bucegi Mountains, **Foisor Castle** rises in close proximity to the famous **Peleșor Castle**, in the town of Sinaia. Initially built as a hunting retreat for King Carol I, the edifice still bears the mark of an era when the Romanian monarchy was consolidating its presence in the heart of the Carpathians. Although the first construction dates back to the late 19th century, the current building is the result of a reconstruction carried out between 1932 and 1933, after a fire destroyed the old lodge. ## Architecture and Transformations Over Time With its 42 rooms, **Foisor Castle** blends the elegance of royal residences with the functionality of a hunting lodge. The architectural style, though understated, reflects Neo-Romanian and Neo-Gothic influences, characteristic of the interwar period. During the communist dictatorship, the building underwent significant modifications, including the addition of a new wing that expanded its usable space. While the interior is not open to the public, it likely preserves decorative details inspired by hunting traditions and the tastes of the monarchy. ## Access and Current Status Although part of the national heritage and included in the public domain of the state, **Foisor Castle** is not open for visits. The building serves exclusively for protocol purposes and official events, managed in close connection with the royal complex of Sinaia. However, tourists can admire its imposing exterior from the trails linking **Peleș Castle** to **Peleșor**, enjoying the mountainous landscape that has inspired generations of sovereigns and artists.
