Despre acest obiectiv
## A Green Oasis in the Heart of Bucharest Herăstrău Park, the largest green space in the capital, spans 110 hectares in the northern part of the city, bordered by major thoroughfares such as Aviatorilor Boulevard, Nordului Highway, and Constantin Prezan Boulevard. Created in 1936 along the shores of Herăstrău Lake, the park was originally named "King Carol II National Park," reflecting the ambitious project to provide Bucharest residents with a natural and cultural refuge. ## Architecture and Distinct Zones Designed as a balanced urban ecosystem, Herăstrău harmoniously blends nature with recreational facilities. The park is divided into two main zones: a tranquil area dedicated to relaxation and culture, where visitors can admire the Elisabeta Palace—a former royal residence turned museum—or attend performances at the open-air summer theater. The other zone, vibrant and dynamic, hosts sports facilities, restaurants, and a children's amusement park, ensuring entertainment for all ages. Among the key attractions are the Expoflora Zone, a 15-hectare space dedicated to flowers and ornamental plants, the Rose Island, which blooms spectacularly every summer, and the Japanese Garden, an oasis of serenity inspired by Japanese aesthetics. Herăstrău Lake, with its boat docks and rowing opportunities, completes the charm of the place, offering a unique perspective on the urban landscape. ## Quick Visitor’s Guide Access to the park is easy, served by several metro stations (Aviatorilor, Victoriei Square) and bus lines. The park is open 24/7, and entry is free, except for special events or restricted-access areas. For a complete experience, visiting during the warm season is recommended, when the flora is in full bloom and outdoor activities are at their peak. Herăstrău Park remains a symbol of Bucharest, seamlessly blending history, nature, and urban life in a unique setting.
