Despre acest obiectiv
## A Literary Landmark in the Heart of Lancrăm The Lucian Blaga Memorial House is located at 234 Ulita Veche in Lancrăm, a picturesque village in Alba County, preserving the memory of one of Romania’s most significant writers and philosophers. The building was inherited by the Blaga family in 1870 from the writer’s grandfather, Simion Blaga, an Orthodox priest in the village. This house became an emblematic place where Lucian Blaga’s earliest memories and inspirations took shape, later influencing his literary and philosophical works. The architecture of the house reflects the traditional style of the region, featuring elements typical of 19th-century Transylvanian peasant homes. The structure retains its original design, with thick adobe and wood walls, a four-sloped roof, and a modest yet welcoming veranda. Restored between 1997 and 1998 by the Village Museum in Bucharest after being acquired by the Romanian state in 1995, the house has regained its authentic charm, harmoniously blending into Lancrăm’s rural landscape. ## A Journey into Blaga’s Universe The museum offers visitors a journey through Lucian Blaga’s life and works, showcased through valuable exhibits. Original furniture, family photographs, manuscripts, and first editions of his works recreate the atmosphere in which the great writer lived and created. The collections also include donations from Blaga’s family members, literary figures, cultural institutions, and even villagers, giving the museum an authentic and deeply personal character. Among the notable items are family portraits, historical documents, and personal belongings that illustrate not only Blaga’s life but also the social and cultural context of his era. Each exhibit tells a part of Romania’s literary history, turning the visit into a memorable experience for culture enthusiasts. ## Practical Visitor Information The Lucian Blaga Memorial House is open to the public year-round, with seasonal visiting hours. Visitors can easily reach Lancrăm, located approximately 10 km from Sebeș and 30 km from Alba Iulia, via county road DJ106G. Access is possible by personal car or public transportation, with regular bus services available from Sebeș.
