Despre acest obiectiv

## A Sanctuary of National Poetry in the Heart of Iași The Mihai Eminescu Museum in Iași opens its doors in Copou Park, one of the city’s oldest and most picturesque green spaces, where nature and culture intertwine harmoniously. Inaugurated in 1989 to mark the centenary of the poet’s passing, the museum was conceived as a tribute to the life and work of the figure considered a symbol of Romanian literature. The building, seamlessly integrated into the park’s landscape, features a restrained neoclassical architecture that invites contemplation and reflection. ## A Journey Through the Eminescian Universe The permanent exhibition is structured across three halls, each dedicated to a distinct facet of Eminescu’s personality and legacy. On the ground floor, the **Hall of Destiny** houses an impressive collection of editions of the poet’s works, from the first printed appearance in 1884 to the most recent publications. Here, visitors can discover monographic studies, critical exegeses, and translations of his poetry into dozens of foreign languages, a testament to the universal impact of Eminescu’s creations. The **Art Hall**, also on the ground floor, showcases visual works inspired by the poet’s universe: paintings, sculptures, and graphics by Romanian and international artists, including a notable collection of 25 drawings and engravings illustrating Eminescian themes. Upstairs, the **Hall of Friendship** evokes the poet’s connections with his contemporaries through period photographs, documents, and personal objects. Among the highlights are a bronze bust of Eminescu by sculptor Ion Schmidt Faur and a *Fr. Ehrbar* piano (Vienna, 1873) that belonged to Aglaea Drogli Eminovici, the poet’s sister. The carefully restored instrument adds an intimate and authentic note to the museum space. ## Practical Guide for Visitors The museum is open to the public from Tuesday to Sunday, between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with the last entry at 4:30 PM. Admission is at a symbolic fee, with discounts available for students, pupils, and seniors. Copou Park, where the museum is located, also offers plenty of exploration opportunities: shady alleys, monuments dedicated to other cultural figures, and a tranquil atmosphere ideal for leisurely walks. Nearby attractions include the Botanical Garden and the Mihai Eminescu Memorial House on Viașa Street, completing a cultural journey through Eminescu’s Iași.
