## Șureanu Mountains Ski Slopes – A Mountain Destination for Winter Sports Enthusiasts Hidden in the heart of the Șureanu Mountains, just 95 km from Sebeș, the ski slopes in this area are an attractive option for skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts. Developed in 2010 near Lake Oașa, the seven slopes provide ideal conditions for both beginners and experienced athletes, all within a spectacular natural setting. ## Varied Trails for All Skill Levels The ski resort features slopes tailored to different skill levels. **Curmatura 1**, with a length of 1,700 m and a gentle 8% slope, is designed for beginners, while **Curmatura 2, 3, and 4**, ranging between 650 and 800 m in length, cater to those with intermediate experience. For advanced skiers, **Sureanu 3** (1,200 m) presents a challenge due to its high difficulty level and a 150 m elevation difference. All slopes are serviced by ski lifts and have a capacity of 700-800 people, ensuring a steady flow of visitors. ## Access and Facilities The slopes operate exclusively on weekends and public holidays, between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Access is via the route Sebeș – Sugag – Oașa – Luncile Prigoanei – Poarta Raiului, followed by the road to the ski area. Visitors can choose to stay in the local cabins or guesthouses, enjoying the warm hospitality typical of the Apuseni Mountains. Although the ski season is limited, the alpine landscape and fresh air make the Șureanu Mountains a must-visit destination for nature lovers and winter sports enthusiasts.
