Despre acest obiectiv
## A Corner of Untamed Nature in the Heart of the Retezat Taul dintre Brazi Lake lies hidden in the Galesu Valley, on the left bank of the namesake torrent, between the La Oboare Ridge and the Valea Rea Ridge, in the heart of the Retezat Massif. At an altitude of 1,740 meters, this mountain lake is a rarity in the Carpathian landscape, being the only one in the area that does not have a glacial origin. Its natural formation, resulting from specific geological processes, gives it an air of mystery, amplified by the perfect stillness that seems to freeze time. Though its beauty is ephemeral – the silting process is advancing rapidly, threatening to cover it completely in the next two to three decades – Taul dintre Brazi remains one of the most fascinating places in Romania. Its calm waters, surrounded by ancient spruce trees, create an almost unreal atmosphere, where nature appears suspended in a state of eternal stillness. ## Access and Trails to the Lake To reach Taul dintre Brazi Lake, hikers can follow a well-marked trail starting from the village of Nucșoara. The route begins at the Pietrele Cabin, continuing toward the Lunca Largă point, located at the confluence of Valea Rea and Valea Pietrele. From here, follow Valea Rea to the left until the confluence with Galesu Stream, where you turn left again, along its bank. The trail then ascends the Valea Rea Ridge in a northeast direction until reaching the destination. The path, of medium difficulty, offers spectacular landscapes and an authentic immersion into the wilderness of the Retezat.
