Despre acest obiectiv
## Mountain Oasis at the Foot of the Lotru Mountains Vidra Resort is tucked away in the heart of the Lotru Mountains, on the eastern slope of Puru Mountain, at a generous altitude of 1,400-1,450 meters. Accessible from Râmnicu Vâlcea (approximately 100 kilometers away) or Voineasa (just 25 kilometers away), it represents an exceptional natural refuge where tranquility and alpine landscapes blend harmoniously. ## Vidra Lake, the Resort's Jewel The most impressive attraction in the area is Vidra Lake, the largest reservoir lake in Romania. Created in the 1970s to supply the Voineasa hydroelectric plant, the lake spans over 1,000 hectares, offering spectacular views and opportunities for fishing or boat rides. Its steep shores, surrounded by coniferous forests and alpine meadows, create a picturesque setting, ideal for hiking or moments of relaxation in the heart of nature. ## Pure Air and Tourist Potential Vidra stands out for its pure air, rich in negative ions and completely free of pollution, a true balm for those seeking to escape urban hustle. Although its tourist infrastructure is still developing, the resort is increasingly attracting visitors, especially due to projects for a ski slope. Currently, the area is frequented mainly by nature lovers who come here for hiking, observing mountain flora and fauna, or simply to enjoy the peaceful landscape. ## Quick Visitor’s Guide To reach Vidra, you can take county road DJ703C from Voineasa, which winds through forests of fir and beech trees. The resort does not yet have a complex tourist infrastructure, but there are guesthouses and rustic cabins where visitors can stay. The ideal season to visit is summer, when temperatures are pleasant and mountain trails are accessible, but also winter for those who wish to explore the area’s ski potential. Don’t miss a walk along the shores of Vidra Lake or an excursion to the neighboring peaks, where the view is truly memorable.
